Author Biography: Clarissa Chikiamco is a curator at National Gallery Singapore. Exhibitions at National Gallery she has co-curated include Between Declarations and Dreams: Art of Southeast Asia since the 19th Century, A Fact Has No Appearance: Art Beyond the Object and Between Worlds: Raden Saleh and Juan Luna. Prior to moving to Singapore, Chikiamco worked as an independent curator in Manila, Philippines. She was the acquisition curator for the Ateneo Art Gallery’s inaugural collection of video art and co-founded the festival End Frame Video Art Project which ran for 3 editions until 2013. She also curated video art exhibitions for Cinema Rehiyon, the Philippine regional film festival, in 2012. Dr Adele Tan received her PhD in art history from The Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London and is currently Senior Curator at National Gallery Singapore. Her research focuses on modern and contemporary art in Southeast Asia and China. Her recent projects include the exhibition Awakenings: Art in Society in Asia, 1960s to 1990s, the 2019 annual Ng Teng Fong Roof Garden Commission with the artist Charles Lim Yi Yong, and OUTBOUND, a series of large-scale site-specific artwork commissions at the Gallery. She has just completed a monographic exhibition on the artist Lin Hsin Hsin and will be working on upcoming exhibitions on the artists Kim Lim and Teo Eng Seng. RUSSELL STORER is Head Curator of International Art at the National Gallery of Australia. Previously Director (Curatorial and Collections) at National Gallery Singapore, he has also served as the Head of Asian and Pacific Art at Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane, Australia, where he was on the curatorial teams for the 6th, 7th and 8th Asia Pacific Triennials (2009, 2012, 2015), and curator of Cai Guo-Qiang: Falling Back to Earth (2013). He was a co-curator of the 3rd Singapore Biennale (2011), a curatorial comrade for the 2008 Biennale of Sydney, and a visiting curator at documenta 12 (2007). He has written widely on Asian and Australian contemporary art.
