Author Biography: Feng Zhengjie is a contemporary Chinese painter whose massive portraits of wandering-eyed women are recognized for their palette of crimson reds, electric pinks, and turquoise greens. Feng's work is often compared to Andy Warhol's screen-printed portraits of celebrities. “I mostly try to find a way to express my emotions, not to criticize or be provocative. Behind these images of women in my works can be found firstly emotion but also forms of criticism, provocation, introspection,†he has said. Born in 1968 in Anyue, China, he received his BFA and MFA from the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in Chongqing, China. The artist currently lives and works in Beijing, China. Today, Feng’s works are held in the collections of the Guangdong Museum of Art in Guangzhou, the Busan Museum of Modern Art in Korea, and the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul, among others.
