This booklet accompanies Fan Chang Tien: Rhythm of the Southern Brush, the first retrospective of the artist’s work presented by National Gallery Singapore. Through a short exhibition overview and selected image plates, it considers Fan’s journey from China to Bangkok and Singapore, his commitment to the scholar-artist tradition and teaching, and his contribution to the development of ink painting in Singapore.

本书配合新加坡国家美术馆首个范昌乾作品回顾展《范昌乾：南方笔韵》出版。通过简要的展览概述和精选作品图版，本书探讨范昌乾从中国南下曼谷、继而定居新加坡的经历，以及他对文人艺术传统与艺术教育的坚持，并梳理其对新加坡水墨画发展的贡献。
